A little bit about Hoffman Estates
Hoffman Estates is a village in the state of Illinois, in the United States. The village is largely located in Cook County, with a minor portion in Kane County. It is a Chicago suburb. According to the 2010 census, the population was 51,895,[3] while the anticipated population in 2019 was 50,932.
The town is currently the headquarters for Sears and Mori Seiki in the United States. The Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League play at Now Arena, which is owned by the community.
Prior to the 1940s, German settlers settled in the area known as Wildcat Grove, which was west of Roselle Road and north of Golf Road. Until gentleman farmers purchased land in the area in the 1940s, the area was sparsely populated.
Sam and Jack Hoffman, founders of a father-son construction company, purchased 160 acres of land in the area in 1954.
The couple built houses and started the development of the district that now bears their names. Residents chose to incorporate the area as they came in, and the Village of Hoffman Estates was founded on September 23, 1959.
Schaumburg Township became more appealing to Chicago commuters after the Northwest Tollway opened. Land annexations north of the tollway and in other nearby districts more than doubled Hoffman Estates' land area in the early 1960s.
It is the 29th largest city in Illinois and the 780th largest city in the United States, with a 2020 population of 50,574. Hoffman Estates' population is currently falling at a rate of -0.35 percent per year, and it has declined by -2.55 percent since the most recent census, which reported a population of 51,895 in 2010. In 2013, Hoffman Estates had a population of 52,396 people. Hoffman Estates has a population density of 2,402 persons per square mile and spans over 21 miles.
